Why do you remember this?!
I played organized basketball for the first time ever when I was 13, in 8th grade. I had absolutely no idea about the rules or how to play or anything. The first time I ever got into a game was with 3 seconds left and the outcome decided. Coach figured I couldn't do much damage, I guess. But later that season, I got into a game and actually had to play defense. I was guarding the dribbler right in front of my own bench (in the backcourt). He tried to go by me and I moved to cut him off. We bumped and he fell OOB. I got called for the block, obviously, but I was oblivious as to what had just transpired. Coach just patted me on the butt and said, "That's ok. A few years ago, that would've just been a force out. Get back out there."

I have no idea why, but that has stuck with me forever. I think I remember a lot about that season, b/c everything was a first for me. Anyway, that's why I remember the force out.
