I wish some of you would stick to the topic, and do your jabbing else where!

Some of us do, however, some of us don't. So your wish has come true. And, btw, it's 'elsewhere'.

Tony, I just got back from camp and this rule of thumb was
passed along by one of the clinicians (a very well known and respected national "big dog").

All things being equal, in a crowd if the ball goes up you
can be pretty sure you had a foul, if it goes down the
defender got all (or mostly all) ball and play on. It's
kinda interesting that I never heard this before and now
I've heard it twice in 1 week. Sounds like a good guideline
to go by, but like Chuck it's new to me and I'm gonna give a while before incorporating it into my game. But I
will say during camp it did seem to apply.

Wow! Imagine that! You heard it at camp, huh? Did anyone get sick when they heard it?

Thanks for posting!

The food wasn't too good so I was already feeling queasy at
the time. Or maybe it was the after hours recreation the
night before? Anyway, I don't recall anyone puking on anyone elses shoes, but if they did it was not from this advice.

Did you know that "gymnasium" is an ancient Greek word, and that it's original meaning is "to train naked"?

If the ball is in a crowd, how do you know who to call the foul on?

Jewel,
I usually guess if I'm unclear.
Often, we (regular) partners see a potential problem and as we pass we offer with a, "#52,...right?"

Example -
Ball and player in a crowd but you see a defender reach
in or swat down. Ball pops up. You saw the swat & the ball
but not the contact. You call it on the "swatter".
