For those who wonder what should have happened here:
1. Since the "shooter" was not at her team's basket, there was no try, and the foul is thus a common foul. 2. Since it was a common foul, the ball was dead when the player was fouled -- no shot, so no points and no free throws. 3. The fouled team should get the ball for a throw-in. With any luck, they'll head the proper direction. ![]()

So, what you're saying is, other than those few errors, the crew got it right? Correct? ![]()

I'm going from the point where the foul was called, not challenging the call itself.

Bigger question - if you're on the home team, why bump the arm of someone who's aiming for your basket?

I chose not to add that to the current thread, since the foul prevented the basket from counting. I was focused on what the officials should have done in their situation.

It's like the last scene in White Man Can't Jump where Wesley tells Woody he isn't shooting at Zaire, he is shooting at Zimbabwe! What would they have done had the shooter turned around and chucked the free throw into the other hoop?
