Illegal Screen Mechanic
What is the correct way to report an illegal screen? I've called several this season, and I'm still not sure what signal to give.
Is it a block, a push, team control? |

Depends on what the infraction was...99 of 100 is going to be a block. Tues. I had a legal screen that turned in an illegal one with a hold.
Typically I will go up with whistle and fist - then verbalize illegal screen while punching (team control signal) in new direction of play. At table color - # - block, push, hold Last edited by eyezen; Fri Jan 08, 2010 at 10:38pm. |

A1 sets an illegal screen on B1, and is called for the foul. I'm thinking this would be a non-shooting, team control foul. Correct? |

Not if the illegal screen happens during a throw -in.

More than likely... it depends if there's team control or not. If there is... then it's a team control foul... if not, then you are shooting free throws if B is in the bonus or throw-in for B.

Yes. Yes. If it occurs while there's team control, then yes, it's team control. Whistle fist in the air, punch away from the basket. When reporting, I signal whatever the illegal contact was. A push. A block. It could be either.
