Wanna hear something funny? Holmes rarely uses deduction: Conan Doyle routinely has him call his inferences deductions, when they are in fact inferences to the best explanation (which are inductive). A most un-Holmesian mistake.

I'm probably going to take two of my adult children to a movie over the Christmas break. We usually try to see the blockbuster movies on our family dates. Sherlock Holmes, or Avatar? Suggestions?
