Thanks for the ideas. I tried both of my whistles in the gym tonight before the game and the one I used last night was deemed quieter.

I'll go over it carefully tomorrow to see if I can find the source.

careful if you boil them - we had a guy do that and his whistles were ruined. Don't know how long he had them in there though.
