Well, I had this play in a college game this weekend right after the point guard crossed the division line and I did not call it a violation either. The opposing HC looked my way with the "" look on his face but I just indicated to him that it was fumble. Neither of my partners asked me about the play (they probably didn't see it) and the neutral observer didn't question me about it after the game.
