Liability Coverage?
I and a fellow registered official have a meeting in an hour with the organizer of a local over 40 rec league. He wants to have registered officials do their games this year.
Are my partner and I covered, liability-wise, reffing in a league like this? I checked with my NASO liability coverage and they say we're covered as long as it is a "recognized league or association." My question is, "recognized" by whom? What kinda of recognition is needed to make sure our tails are covered? Anybody know? |

I think you'd better give NASO the details and find out exactly what they need. Don't trust whatever your league people say -- they probably won't outright lie, but they may not know all the facts about this. Whatever happens be sure you have liablility. You just never know when you might need it.
