Officials will pay closer attention to three-second calls to eliminate some of the wrestling matches underneath the basket and have been instructed to call fouls if a player's balance, rhythm, speed or quickness is impeded, not just if it provides an advantage.
This may be the dumbest thing ever written by an ESPN writer in what is ostensibly a news article. Those things define advantage, for crying out loud.

But they are principles set down by the NBA, not the NCAA. Of course, people incorporate them into their personal philosophy.

Not true. John Adams used that principle (RSBQ) in the NCAA tape last year. I have not seen this year's tape, so I am not sure if he repeated the same philosophy. But it is certainly not just an NBA mantra.

Peace

My point was that these principles have trickled down from the NBA and have been incorporated by others. Clearly that is the source from which Mr. Adams took them when speaking on last season's NCAA video. Just because he talked about them doesn't mean that he originated them.

I did not say he originated them. But I have also heard these terms for years. Maybe they came from the NBA, but the Adams has said these terms in his camps and implemented them into the officiating program. That was my point. Where they came from is irrelevant to me.

Peace
