It's legal but it will rarely work unless you're playing 1 on 1 streetball or something.

can you throw the ball in the air and catch it (the pivot foot does not move).?

Think about it this way, unless there's a rule disallowing it, it's legal (regardless of what "it" is.)

thanks, looks right.
but im sure that if somone on street basketball will throw the ball and catch it without the ball touch anything, even if he didnt move, everybody will call travelling

Are you an official?

We don't really deal much in "streetball" rules here, because they can have only a passing resemblence to real basketball.

im not official, but in israel its not like in usa (as i can see on and1 videos) im doing an hard work to keep the game to be played by the rules.

the most problematic are those kids that dont know to dribble (looks like they never cared about the actuall rules, and they are influenced by AND1 videos) and do a lot of carries. i wont give up.

Not in my world, but I've never seen anyone actually do that in street ball or any kind of ball for that matter.
