Roughness continues after held ball is called
This happens very often.
A1 and B1 are fighting for the ball, playing rough but playing the ball. The ref calls a held ball. Situation 1 After the whistle both players continue to fight for the ball ignoring the whistle and playing ever rougher. Situation 2 After the whistle A1 try to unhook his arms from the ball and from B1 but the latter doesn't let him go and keeps fighting to get the ball and to overturn A1 upside down if you know what I am trying to say. Please guys What would your call be in situations like these? Thanks a lot c

You have to decide whether the contact is worth calling a technical foul on one or both players. Ordinarily, I will talk try to talk to them. I've never had to call a double T, but I would in principle be willing to do so.

Sometimes these situations can be anticipated. If I'm the closest official to the action and it looks like there's a held ball coming, I will take a step toward the action and be prepared to "pounce". I will give a few good, strong whistles and take a couple LARGE steps in toward the play, drop my whistle and say "OK GUYS, WE'RE DONE, I"M HERE, EASY, EASY!!!" with my hands out toward them so they see me and know they can't get away with anything further. If there is a little continuation after the play I will say "Alright fellas, easy, let's stop on the whistle now" and if need be you can take the rougher of the players aside and have a quick word.
Unless it's something agregious I wouldn't call anything above and beyond the jump but that's up to you. If it happens a couple times perhaps you want to speak to the coaches but honestly it shouldn't get to that point. Preventative officiating goes a long way. |

How about calling a foul instead of the jump ball in the first place? Just a thought, but if they are "playing rough", it sounds like a foul needs to be called. Aggressive play is OK, but rough play certainly isn't. So assuming we have "rough" play - hit them with a double foul on the initial whistle. Chances are that will clean things up quickly.
