Ehhh...I saw a girls game that actually end in regulation that had 70-some fouls and about 10 players fouling out (out of 20 on both team benches). Girls V by the way.

Thumbs down

Five overtimes!!! That's just sick. Those officials ought to be taken out and flogged. They're giving the rest of us a bad name.

And - thanks for calling me Mr. Weaselpants. I'm finally getting some respect around here. I was starting to feel like this guy:

BM in OT?

I checked into why BillyMac hasn't posted in a day or so. His association says he's still involved in a middle school game that, as of mid-morning, has gone into its eighteenth overtime. They must have taken an extended intermission for some sleep sometime during the night. I can't wait to hear his report. This just might make all previous tired posts regarding OT's insignificant in comparison.
BM, let us know how it went, will ya?

(Sorry, I think I got a bad case of cabin fever. )

Thank God We Didn't Change To Daylight Saving Time, Or I'd Really Be Confused ...

You've got this all wrong. I was officiating a game on a cruise ship, and was just about to call a ten second violation, when the ship crossed the International Date Line. I had to wait twenty-four hours to continue my count, and with one team back in a halfcourt zone, the other team was just willing to dribble and pass in the backcourt. That's why the game took so long.

Mark, Jr., and I should be walking off the court right now but that is another thread which I will write tonight or tomorrow evening, fortunately, we are now able to watch Andy swim in his H.S. swim meet at B.G.S.U. before we officiate a boys' FR gam at 04:45pmEST, but I digress.

About ten years ago at the AAU Boys' 11U National Basketball Championships in Cocoa Beach, FL, we were having the pre-tournament officials meeting (read: beer, pizza, and cigars, , but no dancing girls, ) and the subject of OT was being discussed. I made the statement that a good team will send a game into the first OT but a good official will not allow a game to go a second OT.

The first two days of the pool play I had the first game of the day (08:30amET) at the venue and both games went double OT, .

I am a bad official, .

Says only one silly Forum member. I know that you're only trying to be funny, but coaches, and fanboys might believe you. I sincerely believe that this one Forum member is only trying to be funny, but he'll never admit it. Especially now that water boarding is considered torture.
