Boy is it COLD

Tonight I have 1hr and 15 min drive to my game and game time temp should be about -5 with wind chill. Tommorrow morning they are calling for -25 degree temps. I hope the heat is working, either that or I am wearing my jacket the whole game!

Hope you all have a good game tonight! What you all got?

I have a varsity girls game tonight (3 whistle crew)

Have a good game(s)

Another Night of Law and Order Reruns

Rats.
Third cancellation due to weather this week. Friday's and Tuesday's 3-man frosh/JV doubleheaders cancelled due to snow and blizzard conditions. Same with tonight's 2-man JV game. Our whole tri-county area has pretty much cancelled all its games.
The problem I have is fighting off the slight accumulation of rust that gathers from so many nights off. Tomorrow's games will take some additional pre-game steps to knock off that iron oxide.
Same with you? Or don't you mind cancellations like I do?

Canceled, dangerous wind chills. The entire southern Wisconsin area has the day off of school.

Off to England. My next game isn't until the 28th. Good time for a little break before the final push.

My game on Wednesday was moved to tonight. Then the game was cancelled. It will be interesting to see if I have games over the weekend.

Peace

Was 15 below this morning in Iowa and Nebraska...I have a boys reserve 2-whistle game tonight, still on. I grew icicles on my nose running from my classroom building to the admin building a few minutes ago, still picking them off!

Got a GV game tonight -- should be tough drive. The sun will be setting around 530 and it will start to get chilly. Supposed to drop below 60 tonight! I might have to break out the light jacket to keep warm.

Sunny wishes.

Don't Gamble on the Weather -- An Idea

You know, what they ought to do is have each casino around here (and they're popping up all over!) build a gymnasium. Schedule all the high school basketball games in casinos. Those things never close for any reason.
Then again, maybe there's a NFHS prohibition against registered officials visiting a casino.
No, wait. That's the NBE.
The casino deal sounds like a good gamble to me!

Interesting. Our bad weather - snow, ice, and then flooding when it all melted - seems to be over for now. I lost 4 games due to it all. My HS sons played Monday, and have games tonight, Friday, Saturday, next Monday, and Tuesday - all trying to get in the make-up games before the league season ends. Gonna be some tired kids in that last game!

Cold is not our issue anymore. It is to warm. I know, I know, lucky right. From -20 to 40+ in a day just makes for bad conditons. All Anchorage schools and Valley schools were closed yesterday and today I think. We will see if they cancell more games tonight. I was just feeling bad for the guys who were loosing games and thought, that never happens here. Now I feel bad for myself

gotta drive 3 hours for a JuCo game Saturday. Temp there will be high of 18 Friday and 24 Saturday but there is no precipitation in the forecast so I don't think I will encounter any problems.

Where I live the high will be 26 on Friday but dry so no cancellations expected.

It's been around 50 (above, not below) here in Portland for over a week and it's supposed to continue that way for a while. Not even any rain! Weird.

This week is exam week for first semester in the Toledo Public School Dist. (TPS) and when I took Andy to school this morning, the Weather Channel Desk Top temperature on the family computer here in lovely residential area of the western area of Toledo, Ohio read: -9F.

It is currently +10F as I write this.

I've had cancellations the last 2 nights due to the extreme cold temps. Hoping to get at it again tomorrow.
