IAABO Test

This is the 50 question IAABO exam. We are allowed to take the test as an open book exam. We have about 10 days to return it to our secretary. Like I said about 14 of us got together to do a round table discussion.

This year's written exam for new members was alright, only two really tough questions. I only had access to it because I'm on our training committee. Now the Refresher Exam. That's another story. It was the hardest, and most confusing, Refresher Exam that I've ever taken. I still don't agree with some of the answers. Please don't get me started, or I'll tell you what I really think.

Zooch, please forgive me for being so blunt, but that 50 question test is written for new applicants. It's supposed to be EASY enough for a new recruit to pass (after taking a few classes). If only 23% of your membership can get 44 out of those 50 questions correct -- with an open book and a week to work on it -- frankly that's pathetic.

Your board needs to seriously re-evaluate its training and/or "continuing education" for its members.

Scrapper, you're preaching to the choir. I doubt that our secretary will do anything about this. He has been giving a empty threat each year. I realize rule knowledge is not the only thing that makes a good official. But it is a good start!
