Yep, the top part is. There is at least one guy in my association that has these same shoes. He's a veteran guy who does D2 games as well. I figure if they're acceptable for him they'll work for me. At the big holiday tournament here I saw a couple of other guys wearing suede shoes also. I think they were Jordans.

Aren't suede shoes really heavy? I remember the old suede Chuck Taylors!

I have some Puma shoes that are suede and they're very light. I wouldn't imagine it will be a problem.

I wore the Nikes for the first time tonight and they are AWESOME. Easily more comfortable than the Reebok patent leathers that I have worn for about a year now. They're very light too.

Side note, if anyone needs new gear, getofficial.com is great. I ordered some new Sansabelt pants from them on Sunday night. They were shipped Monday and I had them today (Tuesday). Granted I only live about 3 hours from them, but they still shipped the pants really quickly.
