I understand. I recently gave a public thank you as well. I'm a mod on a site that my friends runs, and I know that in the past, he has had to pay extra-traffic costs. He does this all out of his own pocket, because he has a passion for the subject.

I learn something from the Forum each day, and have a lot of fun hanging out with you guys. It's a lot better than early evening televison.
Well, I do both as I'm watching Big Ten Network and posting . I too, have found the site more civil. Previously I was timid to post an opinion for fear of getting ripped for wrong verbiage(I mentioned a 'reach in' foul once as a way to describe what the offender did to paint a picture and was skewered). That said, I've also been less sensitive to criticism as I'm here to learn and grow as an official along with the fun.

To me, a message board is like your local bar, where the conversation can take different paths within the same crowd if a poster gets sidetracked with a comment or joke away from the thread, it doesn't faze me, you can always post to bring it back to the herd.

I can't think of a better place for the new official to hang out and have recommended this place to some newer refs I come across

Everyone here contributes on many levels. It's a great site.

Well, back to the game..........

Joe the Bartender had Crazy Guggenheim. We have Mark Padgett. I wonder if Mark Padgett can sing?
