Sad news: Ref leaves at halftime and dies.

Our sincerest condolences to the family of Thomas Duffin.

Ref dies during JV basketball game - Examiner.com

I see you're in Indiana and this happened in that state. Did you know him? It is a sad story indeed.

Hi Mark,
No I did not know him but it was in my local paper. Kinda of hits home when:
1) Its a Hoosier
2) Does girl's JV like the few I do
3) Just 56...two years older then me.

Puts in all in perspective and makes you think about your own mortality.

It sure does. As I posted about a week ago, a buddy of mine who I reffed with for a few years died of a heart attack. He was only 49. That's a lot younger than me and it scared the heck out of me.

My condelances

to his family. It is nice to be able to do something we are passionate about while we are here on this earth. I am sure he would probably say the same thing.
