Have the managers all help draft the teams. After the teams are drafted, number them and put the numbers in a hat. Have each manager pull a number and that is his team.

I'm afraid that wouldn't work. Coaches draft kids onto their teams for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's because the kid is good, sometimes it's because the kid is a friend of their kid or maybe the coach is friends with the kid's parents, sometimes it's because they've had that kid on their team before and that kid knows their plays and the coach knows the kid has a good attitude, sometimes it's because the kid's mom is a real babe.
