Well, even with cold & wind - glad that almost all the white/gray stuff is gone - my season has finally started here in Pa. Had a D1 double header Friday, first game went extra innings with me on the base AND the second game was a perfect game. That makes 6 perfect games I've been on the plate for in now 33 years. Had a high school game today that went 3 innings, so it's started - YAY. Weather is supposed to be coming in & I head north tomorrow - I don't think their white/gray stuff is gone yet.

Unhappy wash outs

Weather seems to be everywhere, lost two (2) games last
nite myself. Head for Houston this weekend for high
school tournament, although forecast is gloomy

Rained out of my double header today - at least they called so I didn't have to drive a couple hours. Saturday's another double header with a 2 & 1/2 hour drive - weather doesn't look too good for that one either.

Angry

Man.......I hate rainouts.......really hate em'......I mean I REALLY hate them.

Two daughters games rained out tonight (4 games between them for the week).........that means that they will most likely get rescheduled to nights I am assigned to umpire.

I have always scheduled my umpiring around their games.....unless the schedular is in a bind and needs me.

Oh well..........Did I mention that I HATE rainouts?

Thumbs down rain, rain go away

Home again tonight 6th rainout night I've had in March. Hell even my dog lick me tonight I think he knows who I am now. At this rate spring league will end in July but then down here below will be 105 for 3 months and no rain for 90 days like last year isnt Texas great!!! Heck by next week even my wife will remember who I am and my kids will start calling me dad again.

Hoping for sunny days

Sunny California

Well I'll be the first one to tell you it wouldn't be worth it to move here, but out here in the Mojave desert getting rain is only slightly better than any of that stuff people referred to as snow...
Can you beleive it I called a doubleheader last weekend and forgot to bring my tanning lotion...
Maybe it's just beginner's luck.... When I get some more experience under my belt maybe the weather will become more of a problem.
Ya know.. Them Gymnasiums always seem to be dry! Haven't seen a basketball game call yet on account of that wet stuff... But then it doesn't rain here during basketball season either come to think of it.
I hope it dries out soon for the rest of you!

Chuck

Thumbs up Good Game

Sorry Guys about all the bad weather. Indiana must be getting lucky or Mother Nature is just messsing with us to really screw things up in April. Got our game in tonight 7-0 with a no hitter going to the visitors. Murphy's law says they all can't go this well.

Smile Finally

Got one in, but it was 1A schools (equal to most 8U ASA
teams), but at least it was work. Coach for team A hands
me line-up card with a DH in sixth position. I count
heads and look for subs listed, she only has nine players
all together. Asked why she was utilizing DH and she said
rules says she could. But at least we got a game in. Good
luck to the rest of you BLUES. I suppose to have tourney
Sat.

Chuck,
We had a basketball rain out. As I recall it was in 1966,(I was a freshman in high school.) Second quarter and it begins raining and the temperture rises. Playing a cross county team and the stands were packed. Floor begin to sweat so badly that players couldn't get their Converse All Stars to grip.

I'm really getting to dislike rainouts myslef. Last week I had some games cancelled due to weather & all. One of the teams was/is the top-ranked team in D2. Ohwell, I thought, I've got them again in a couple weeks. Wouldn't ya know, they lost a game yesterday - to a freshman pitcher that's from their town & got away. When I have them again on the 18th, they probably won't be ranked #1......

Rained out yesterday, looks like tomorrow will get postponed, too.

Aw, quit crying about the rainouts. There will be night in June and July after working 14-16 straight days, some of us will be looking at the sky around 3 PM and PRAYING for a rainout just to have one night off.
