I've heard that they considered changing it for this season -- maybe it will get changed for next.

the only issue I run across is when working with some officials who do a lot of non-womens there is a reluctance to make the pass of the ball handler below the FT line extended to the lead.
It can create a situation if you are not able to communicate who has what during play. even if you communicate this in pre-game it is hard to get some people to break old habits.

Doing predominately women's I make my eye contact toward the Trail /Center depending on the issue, and if they do not want to pass responsibility then I go back inside.
I'm used to the coverage so it really doesn't bother me.

All in all, I prefer going opposite and letting the trail handle the extraneous table stuff while the reporting/returning Center lets the Lead know what's going on.

Question for those with some experience using NCAA-W mechanics. I'm not really crazy about the idea of the T taking post play when the L picks up the ball in his area. That seems like a long way for the T to reach to make a call. Do you find this coverage problematic? Or does it work okay in practice?

I always thought it was a stupid mechanic. One of the reasons I got out of that mechanic set.

Peace
