I vacationed there, on the barrier islands, for a few weeks, about 15 years ago, and found North Carolinians to be as friendly, and laid back, as anyone I've ever met. I found the same to be true for Virginians. I guess Oklahomaians must be really, really, really laid back, and friendly.

Billy, that long ago. Heck, I believe things my have changed since than.

You could be right. I forgot that a lot of industries that used to be located in the Northeast have now relocated to the South, especially North Carolina. I attended a political science seminar this past weekend and learned that Florida, politically, is now like three separate states, southern Florida is like the Northeast, central Florida is like the new South, and northern Florida is like the deep South, all due to the movement of people to the state.

Interesting analysis. We do have one thing in common throughout Florida, though. We can't seem to count votes worth a damn anywhere in this state.

Billy Mac -

I lived in Greensboro, NC for 4 years. Vacationing and living in an area are too different animals. All I know is that since we moved into our house in Oklahoma all of our neighbors around me have stopped by to introduce themselves. That did not happen in NC.

You now have an official from Oklahoma on the forum........of course, you can take the kid out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the kid.

Travelinman I am brand new to forum and am also from OK. I live in OKC but travel frequently to the Lawton area. We need to see if we can get together and work a game.

Nice to meet you. I live outside Rush Springs, which is about 50 miles from OKC. What association do you call for?

I call for Wichita Mtns a little bit. I also work for an assignor out of Lawton as well. Here we do not work so much for associations. Schools and coaches contract out for the following seasons at the varsity level. I have called at Rush Springs a number of times. Private message me so we can exchange phone numbers and get the ball rolling for next year.
