This was from the Massachusetts Division II state semi-finals at the TD Banknorth Garden. Catholic Memorial went on to win the state title (in their road reds btw). I was at this game and no free throws were shot at the beginning of the game so I can only assume that the MIAA gave them some sort of waiver to wear the uniforms.

I don't understand how a school that demands 5 digits in tuition can't afford to purchase uniforms that comply with the rules??????

Nope, Papal dispensation.

It's true, it's true.

The MIAA has declined to adopt the NFHS "home team must wear white" rule:
The MIAA Basketball Committee voted to waive the new NFHS rule requiring white uniforms for home teams UNTIL SUCH TIME AS each school has an opportunity to purchase new uniforms. (When new uniforms are purchased, home teams must wear white jerseys and the visiting team a dark-colored jersey.)

The problem with this (which was adopted in December 2005) is that there is no provision to make sure schools comply. I know one school that bought new uniforms last year and they did not buy white home uniforms. Now that they have new uniforms, I figure it will be several years before they will be replaced.
