I'm buying a .500 caliber pistol! Last fall while bow hunting for deer, I walked into a brown bear while she was nursing her cub. I've lived through some pretty wild adventures living up here in Alaska, but I can honestly say you haven't lived until you are 40 yards away from an 800 pound bear having a staring contest, and you're only holding a stick and a string!

A friend of mine here in CO is doing the very same thing for a similar reason. When he goes elk hunting, he doesn't want to have to defend himself against a bear with a bow and arrow.

Actually, between his academic scholarship from ONU's college of engineering and his Air Force ROTC scholarship, he will not have to spend a dime for his college education.

So, you are really squirreling away the money for personal use?

[Guess what's likely going to appear shortly?]

We will need the officiating money to attend his swim meets and baseball games at Ohio Northern Univ. next year.
