T on fan
First round of state varsity boys basketball playoffs. Visitor goes up by four with four seconds left in overtime. Home coach is granted a time out. An excited fan runs out of the stands behind the visitor bench and into the visitor huddle, maybe six feet on the floor, to high-five his buddies. Officials call a T....I don't know on whom, was it an indirect on the coach?
Have you seen anything like this? Would you do this? FYI, I was a fan of the home team, and the T was to our benefit, so this is not a rant. (We lost.) |

I may have them removed by game mgmt depending on the situation and what actually happened. |

The fan didn't interfere with play. No T. Only asking for trouble.
As for game management removing a fan, lot's of luck! Most of the time you can't FIND the game management, they're at the concession stand or in their office or in the lobby. And, if they are available, they are usually so weak that they don't know what to do. |

I agree that it should be a game management problem. There is a possibility that this was something the state wanted taken care of in their pregame. It is my understanding (not experience yet) that in some parts, including mine, someone from the state handles the pregame, not the officials that are working. The officials may have been specifically instructed to take care of this with a whistle. I have no idea if this was the case, but it may be a possibility.

Lebron

A fan came to the huddle and was trying to high five Lebron and was promptly escorted out by security. It did take a second for security to respond....maybe because he was wearing a Cleveland - Lebron jersey.
