Smile Hey - she's learning

Saturday morning kids rec league follies - 7th grade boys. Partner is a HS senior girl in her fourth year with us. Our first game today was really strange. We had no fouls in the first half! That's right - none, zero, nada, bupkis! In the second half, we had a grand total of five fouls - three on home, two on visitors. Home won by 12. After the game, the visitors coach came up to her (she was at the table) and said, "No fouls? We took a lot of elbows out there." Her reply was classic. "Well, you'd better give them back. We can't have kids going around without elbows!"

At first, I couldn't believe she said that. I looked over at the coach. He looked as if someone just asked him to explain the theory of relativity or something. He turned around and left. I asked her where she ever came up with that. She replied, "Hey, I've been listening to you for four years."

It was a very proud moment for me.

Haha, that's classic, I need to meet this girl, she's got spunk! I've been doing it for 10 years and not sure I have the nerve to say something like that. By the way, I'm a newbie here!

Just because you CAN insert a picture doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Add that to the list of things I don't like about this board.

Sorry. For some reason, I just got silly.

Also, my high school English teacher, Mr. Baumgartner, taught us about alliteration. If you had substituted "Could" in place of "Can", the words would have, or could have, or should have, flowed much better.

Silly? Sorry again. Maybe it's cabin fever. I'm sure that it will stop when I go back to work tomorrow morning.

Cut the guy some slack. He only just figured out how to do that.

It's not always all about alliteration. Sometimes the sentence has to make sense. I could have use "could" but I should have used "should" and I did.

Did you miss that day in English class? It might flow better with "Could" but it would not be an example of illiteration.
