Why would you play on? It's a violation.
Ball hits the backboard, players may enter the lane; however, it still must hit the rim or the shooter has violated.

Rookie Officials: Snaqwells makes an excellent point here. Please make a mental note of who actually violates here, not the "rebounders", just the shooter.

Can't get the answer you want ask another person

It seems to be like going to the Dr. and being told to quit drinking, so you go for another opinion and another and another until you find the one that says it's okay to keep drinking just not any more or any less.

If they keep asking the question, maybe someone will pop up on the thread and tell them it's not a violation, eh.

Ball never hit the rim. it was two feet wide left of the rim and smacked the backboard ... they played on.
