Is it not a violaion to cause the ball to not hit the rim. However, it is a violation. :p

The attempt hits the backboard, but misses the rim ... blow your whistle and signal violation or play on?

Since we just said it's a violation, what's the problem here?

Blow your whistle and signal the violation, assuming you're the trail.

Adam Sat Jan 19, 2008 01:50am

Why would you play on? It's a violation.
Ball hits the backboard, players may enter the lane; however, it still must hit the rim or the shooter has violated.

I'm also confused. This is the second thread this morning in which a question has been clearly answered, and then the question was asked again by Johnny.

Rookie Officials: Snaqwells makes an excellent point here. Please make a mental note of who actually violates here, not the "rebounders", just the shooter.

Can't get the answer you want ask another person

It seems to be like going to the Dr. and being told to quit drinking, so you go for another opinion and another and another until you find the one that says it's okay to keep drinking just not any more or any less.

If they keep asking the question, maybe someone will pop up on the thread and tell them it's not a violation, eh.

I volunteer. It's not a violation for the "rebounders".

You all are a rough crowd

Ball never hit the rim. it was two feet wide left of the rim and smacked the backboard ... they played on.

The reason the crowd is tough is that you asked the same question twice, Johnny...
