Aren't Catholic leagues just the best!!
Well, first off I am Catholic and yes, games do get interesting! hehehe.

Also, I love hanging around officials, considering I am dieing to be one. After the first half (half time) and the end of the game, it's my job to escort them back the official room. We do get some games where I am needed. I am a black belt and I am not afraid of anyone. Sounds cocky, but it's the truth. I have seen so many things happen to myself and my friends that I learned just to brace life. Anyway, I never actually had to much; mostly call security because this parent was going crazy because his son got a T in a game. So I basically told the ref to stay in the room, I locked the room, and radio for security. Had that parent escorted off the school grounds, escorted the official to his car and that's about it.

Honestly, I believe parents get more into games than the kids. But yes, if something like that happens, get the school admin or school security that or call the cops.

What you are hearing from the forum is the voice of many, many yrs of experience. Your first toss always leaves you asking and having questions asked of you.....it probably won't be your last toss and you will be more confident and maybe less tolerant in the future!

PS - Our guidance is never to give the "stop sign".....but that's a whole nuther conversation.....

Our guidance? Maybe your guidance but it's not mine.

Nothing wrong with telling a coach, "I've heard enough," "Coach, I'm not going to listen to that tonight," "Coach, no more, you've been warned." But you do it once. Next time, you bang him.

There's nothing wrong either with popping a coach who crosses the line before you have an opportunity to warn him that he's getting close.
