The legend of the pivot cheek

BJV tonight. Scrum for a loose ball in the corner in front of me (lead). Black grabs the ball as he's falling down, get's control, then lands on his two rear cheeks. I whistle traveling. As I'm ready to give the ball to white, coach for black is trying to tell me his cheek becomes his pivot when he's sitting.

I couldn't help myself. I just laughed (didn't say a word).

Coach: "I'm serious, his cheek becomes his pivot."

Me: " "

I just put the ball in play.

Tempting: "Only when he lands on one cheek, coach. Two cheeks equals travelling."

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Talking

Sorry to take so long. I've been off-planet. BTW - this thread reminds me of the Davism that's used when a player is sitting on the floor with the ball and he tries to get up. When the coach wants to know why it was traveling, you say "He moved his pivot cheek, coach."
