Thx guys. Extremely helpful, especially the diagram. That's pretty much how I did it Saturday, may have missed once or twice. Honestly, I don't have a manual. lol Our league doesn't require officials to be certified, so most newbies like me are usually doing it from scratch based on our basic knowledge of the game. However, I still want to do my best at it. Thx again.

Like they said, it is good that you want to learn the right way to do things - we all had these questions at one time or another.

I will be working with two guys tonight who will try to do this the wrong way.

I thought you meant they knew better but still tried to do it their way because it was easier and required less effort.

Sadly, it is almost 50/50. Some local officials know it and still do it wrong while some don't know they are doing anything wrong. There isn't a training program here. New officials go to the same meetings and hear the same things as everyone else. Imagine how lost and intimidating that could be.
