Trout and Salmon and Pike, oh, my !
Water looks awfully cloudy. [Just read that it was at a river mouth, that'll explain the trubidity.] I'll bet there's some light or sound thingy drawing those fish in. Thanks, JR ! Interesting. |

The new owners of the AAA PCL Portland Beavers want to change the team's nickname, even though the team has been the Beavers for over 100 years. One of the suggestions is the "Wet Sox"!

Boston beats the White Sox again, 11-1. They outscored Chicago 46-7! Meanwhile, the Yankees lost again pushing the Sox' division lead to 7.5 games. Should be a good set this week in the Bronx. Only 3 games, but it's going to help somebody's confidence going into September.

You were perhaps confused by the story of Pinocchio, who was indeed swallowed by a whale. You probably also think that Noah took 2 of every animal into the ark with him.

Ancient cultures generally did not distinguish in thought or concept between mammalian and non-mammalian sea creatures, and so the use of the term 'dahg' would not exclude a whale. Jerome's vulgate (early 5th century Latin translation) introduces the term 'cetus' in this context, from which word the study of whales (cetology) derives its name. Although I don't believe the story, it is more plausible to claim that an individual was swallowed whole by a whale rather than a shark. You are probably confused: the story of Pinocchio is fiction, so no one was indeed swallowed by a whale (though Pinocchio was in the story).
