So what I got from this so far is you can never be to safe. I am going to make some serious changes at tonites big varsity game I am working. First, I will carry my wallet in my front pocket with a heavy duty chain attached to my belt buckle. Then go with my wad of keys in the other pocket and listen to them click around while I am running up and down the court. I do not trust the place so I am going to throw my bag behind the scorers table. And Finally I am going to call a cab to take me there since my car might get broken into while I am working.

I do the same as most as leaving my wallet locked in the glove comparment.
I heard a story of fellow officials having their bags stolen from the coaches office. They had their car keys inside; their cars were broken into with their remotes. So now, I always have my car key/remote (no house keys or more) in my back pocket when I take the court. The key is not a hinder on the court. |
