pregame injury

10 minutes before the game, the book is checked and all is well. A starter sprains his ankle with 5 minutes before the game and cannot continue. The coach asks to change the injured starter. I asked the other coach, and he was alright with it. Can anyone provide rulebook information about injuries before the game begins?
