The Cubs are now playing baseball. The Cubs completed by far the largest deal in an already productive offseason and the richest deal in franchise history by signing coveted free-agent outfielder Alfonso Soriano to an eight-year contract believed to be worth $136 million on Monday.*

Now, if they can only keep pitchers off the DL.

Hey, where've you been, Mr. "Center of the Universe"?

Whatinthehell are you talking about, Wilbur?

"Isk Tsk" is a Classic Latin term. Loosely translated, it means "f**king idiot".

Sigh.....I teach and I teach, but they never learn.

This just in......

NY Times- November 26, 2006:
It was reported today that the Chicago Tribune, parent company and owners of the Chicago Cubs, have accepted an offer to sell the team- effective January 1, 2007. The new owners have been identified as the New York Yankees. A source within the Yankees who wished to remain anonymous stated that the Yankees intend to operate the Cubs as their top farm team, and also fully committed to upgrade the Cubs by sending some of their better minor leaguers to them for seasoning. Plans are also underway to enhance and modernize the Cub's present training methods. For instance, Jason Giambi will be holding seminars on the proper use of supplemental vitamins to grow strong, healthy bodies. The unidentified Yankees source also stated for the record that there was absolutely no truth to the rumor that they would move the Cubs to White Plains, NY and turn Wrigley Field into a flea market. Also today, Sammy Sosa was quoted in the Dominican Republic as saying "If a class team like the Yankees are involved, I would consider coming out of retirement to help the Cubs again".

If it's in the New York Times, it must be true.

Also, in other news today, the Boston Red Sox still suck.
