He'll never come around no matter how much he is slapped. Here's an idea, Billy, since you seem to like to wallow in history, how about no conference gets more than one bid?

Well, to a degree, haven't I heard Billy Packer argue that the tournament actually begins 2 weeks before selection sunday, with the conference tournies? That is the one shot that every school has to get into the big dance. Win your conference tourney, and you get in to the big dance. I guess that limiting the tourney to these 34 teams would end a lot of debate about who deserved to get in and who didn't. Not to mention cut down on all the time wasted in forums like this debating who should and shouldn't be in there and bashing idiotic TV analysts.

Except Packer would say there should be exceptions for the major conferences. Wouldn't he?

I think it is a requisiite pre-requisite for hosting a radio sports talk show. Listen to any of them on ESPN radio, WFAN, FSN, etc for more than 10 minutes [if you can] and they will re-state their point every two minutes [all right--every 30 seconds]. They give these guys 2-3 hour shows, when they could be done and outta there in less time than it takes to play their theme music.
