You go right back as the Trail official.

The foul is on the offense, so I think you'll be going the "other way", which means you become the new Lead. No switch.

I agree with Chuck. Since you said the foul is on the offense, think of the positioning as if you had a violation. If the ball is OOB by you, then report the foul, you go to new L, old L comes up and become new T and administers the throw-in, and the old C stays at C opposite the table.
If the ball is OOB across the floor from you, report the foul and stay tableside, which means you are the new C. Old C becomes new L, and the old L comes over and administers the throw-in as new T.

Unless. . . You're shooting FTs at the other end. Then the calling official will indeed become Trail on the table side of the court. But if there are no FTs involved, then everybody slides down the court. There may be a "switch" required if the new Trail has to move to the other side of the court to administer the throw-in. For example, the C calls a foul for an illegal screen and the throw-in is on the C's sideline. In that case, the old Lead has to come to the C's side of the court to administer the throw-in. This means that the old C becomes the new Lead. So there is a switch, although not in the sense that we normally think of it.

This could be something you discuss pregame, depending on the crew you have.
I have done it many ways. I have stayed as the new trail, and the old C and L moved to become the new L and C. Or I called it and got in the L position. And everyone just stays wher ethey are.. I think it all depends on who you are working with.

I do agree, but when I have worked with a older crew me being the younger guy i would do the most running if possible.
but you are correct it shoudl be done the same each time. i have worked with a guy that got over 30+ in and got in the C position and me and the other guy could not get him out of it. it was just easier to work around him...
