Under NBA, NCAA and FED mechanics, after a foul is called on the offense, there is no switch as we normally think of it. Somebody will correct me, I'm sure, if I'm wrong; but I don't think it matters if the foul occurs in the frontcourt or the backcourt.

You're shooting FTs at the other end. Then the calling official will indeed become Trail on the table side of the court.

But if there are no FTs involved, then everybody slides down the court. There may be a "switch" required if the new Trail has to move to the other side of the court to administer the throw-in. For example, the C calls a foul for an illegal screen and the throw-in is on the C's sideline. In that case, the old Lead has to come to the C's side of the court to administer the throw-in. This means that the old C becomes the new Lead. So there is a switch, although not in the sense that we normally think of it.
