1st quarter team A pushes ball away as team B player is bending over to pick it up for a throwin after made basket by team A. Partner calls delay of game and we put
warning in the book. In the 4th quarter team A player has hands over the boundry line as team B is attempting a throwin. No contact. Is this a different warning or is this a T since we had a delay earlier in the game? |

I'm with MOFFICIAL. Each act gets warned; each act is treated independently of the other before we start handing out the Team Ts for the separate acts. mick By the way, my sister-in-law was under her desk last week. How'd you and Hoops in general fair from the shaker? |

4-46 list these as delay warnings:
1 For a throw in plane violation as in 9-2-11 2 For a huddle by either team and contact with the free thrower 10-1-5c 3 For interfering with the ball following a goal as in 10-5-d you must violate any individual act of delay 2 times for a technical foul. mixing 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 or even 1,2, and 3 is not enough to get a technical foul. although violating 3 may get you a T and a warning in the right situation. |

Easy, but wrong
Quote:
SITUATION 15: Immediately following a goal in the first quarter by A1, A3 slaps the ball away so that Team B is unable to make a quick throw-in. In the second quarter, A2 reaches through the inbounds side of the throw-in boundary plane. RULING: The official shall sound his/her whistle and go to the table to have the scorer record a team warning for the specific delay after it has occurred. The specific warning is then reported to the head coach of Team A. Any subsequent delay for interfering with the ball following a basket or throw-in plane violation by Team A shall result in a technical foul charged to Team A. COMMENT: The three warning situations listed in Rule 4-46 are treated separately. (4-46; 9-2-11; 10-1-5c,d) |

Mick,
It was quite an experience. I rode out the 65 quake as a youngster. This one seemed to go on a lot longer. We are all fine up here. Even did a game that night. |
