Dan_Ref: Turbo Tax is the worst. The H&R Block software that my wife found was great. Email me at [email protected] so that I can email you a blank copy of the spread sheet as an attachment. The only thing is that I may not get back to you until after August 01st. I leave July 02nd for YBOA Nationals and won't be back home until August. MTD, Sr. |

What the heck! I will throw a shameless plug for my Palm software, Assignment Secretary. This works with the Palm OS only.
Keep your schedule, game fees, etc and it links to the Palm Datebook. |

You have anything like Play Book for Pocket PC Platform? |
Just for the record, I use a very low-tech method to keep track of the work I do. It's called a DateBook, and it has a darlin' li'l picture of kittens on the front, with 25 pages, and it folds into the size of a check book. I write the location, level, time and number of games, and sometimes assignor, and then if I got paid or not. I use my PBOA school list to calculate mileage. When tax time comes around, I use my handy-dandy pocket calculator to add up all the money amounts, and the mileages, and write them directly onto my draft tax return -- the paper version. Add up all the expenses for which Ive thrown the receipts into a basket, and the whole Schedule C takes about 20 minutes. This is far less time than it would take me just to learn to use Excel, or something else, and I use no electricity, and I can do the work anywhere, not just in my basement where my computer is. And it's accurate, flexible, and convenient. And cheap. And I haven't been audited yet, so I'm obviously not triggering any red flags. Thanks to the Egyptians who invented paper and pencil 3500 years ago.
