Thanks for your help.

JRutledge Fri Jun 25, 2004 10:56am

Man oh man.

When I first mentioned the schedule book, I did not realize that many people had all these elaborate ways of keeping track of their schedule. I feel left out. I just use a Honigs book and my Outlook Calender and that is it. ;)

Peace

3) My wife helped me develope an Excel spreadsheet that is nothing more that a Schedule C in spreadsheet form. The lines of the Schedule C go from left to right and the days of the year go from top to bottom. On January 01st, I just push a button and every line for the previous year is summed up and I transfer the numbers to the appropriate line on the Schedule C.

My wife and I received the last of our W2's on Saturday, Jan. 31st. During the the Super Bowl's (February 01st) halftime show (we missed the Janet Jackson show) my wife and I used the H&R Block online software to file both our Ohio and US income tax returns. We received our state refund on Fri., Feb. 06th, and our US refund on Fri., Feb. 13th, both via direct deposit. It was the easiest and fastest we had ever had our taxes done.

I keep a paper record of my schedule/fees/mileage/expenses and by far THE most painful part of my year is typing game fee & mileage information into the turbo tax schedule C form. Creating an excel spreadsheet to automate the process is something I put on the top of my to-do list every September and every March it's made it's way to the bottom. Mark, I would be happy to email you a diet coke (or the bev of your choice) if you would share this excel spreadsheet with me....I'll even throw-in a nice decorative gnome you can keep on the rear dash of the Denucci-mobile :)

Hey Dan,

I have a speadsheet that you can download that has all that information for you right at your finger tips. I meant to post this a lot sooner, but keep forgeting. This is an Excel Spreadsheet made by an accountant who spoke at our Baseball Meetings and is a current Baseball College Umpire. Download this and change some of the headings for Basketball and you will love this program. This covers all games you work and all expenses. Click on the link for the February 26 Meeting. All you need is an Excel file on your computer. Instructions on how to use the program are included.

Umpire Spreadsheet

Hope this can help everyone.

It's only available if you're within your cone of taxability!

(Sorry, again, Mark. I'm only perpetuating it to bug Dan!! :D )

Dan_ref Fri Jun 25, 2004 12:21pm

Thanks Jeff, this is very good, I'm going to use it. I especially like the "Uncollected fees" row...not that I ever have to worry about collecting fees...

BTW, who are these ugly people? :D

whoa...that's a huge picture...click the link to see it.

Glad you like it.

Now to answer your question about the ugly people. ;)

I am on the left. A guy named Tim Kiefer is in the middle and the webmaster of both sites I have posted in my signature. He had the pictures taken and posted on the website. The guy on the right is Tom Zimmerman.

Peace

I use excel and have another table that has my mileage listed per school. After I've been to a school once and have measured the mileage, I don't ever have to do it again unless I move. When I enter the school name, it looks up the name in the other table and fills in the mileage.

In addition, I use outlook for scheduling. I enter the games on my outlook caledar (directly exported from <A HREF=http://www.RefTown.com>RefTown.com</A> (<em> gotta plug my site where it shines </em> ;) ) and can see all of them with full game details in outlook (and on the road trough my Pocket PC).

OK Cam, cough it up.....what's the best way to export from RefTown.com to outlook? I've been manually entering my schedule in Outlook calendar & syncing with my Ipaq pocket PC. The idea of sucking the data directly from the web site occurred to me, but I haven't had time to look at it yet. Since you designed the site, your experience would be appreciated. Volleyball is starting soon - if Debi is going to use the online scheduling for GPVOA, that might be a good place for me to try it......
