On the last try, the baseline official reminded the defense of the throw-in plane on a throw-in to prevent them from reaching through the plane. So the USA player, not understanding French, moved 3 YDS off the baseline allowing the throw to be made without defense.

One does have to be careful not to give one side or the other an advantage.
