NFHS 3 point mechanics

Guys I know this was posted here several years ago but here goes anyway.
NFHS 2 person mechanics. A 3 pointer in the leads PCA is marked by the lead. The ball goes in....does the lead give the touchdown signal (which is what I was taught) for a good 3? I know the trail mirrors if the ball goes in. This is more about if the LEAD puts two hands in the air signaling a made 3. Not sure why there is differing opinion on this ... but this appears to be the case.

100% correct in IAABO mechanics.

Yes. The lead is supposed to give a touchdown signal in 2-person mechanics for successful 3-point attempts from his area. The trail mirrors the touchdown signal so everyone can see. This is also the reason why the trail mirrors the chop signal to start the clock on endline throw-ins in the frontcourt, whether in a crew of 2 or 3.

The official where the shot attempt came from always signals the attempt signal. When the ball goes in the calling official says it is good and the Trail always says it is good. If the Trail is the only one that is signaling the attempt, then only the Trail gives the "good" signal.

Peace

Think of it this way...

If the lead doesn't indicate it was made, exactly what is there for the trial to mirror?
