It Can Happen to the Best of Us

Two Leads in an NCAA tournament game? Kevin Brill got thrown off by a weird turnover in Northwestern/UCLA 10:43 second half. As C he had drifted up to help with a half court trap, ended up higher than T, then went from C to L in transition. By the time he realized, the rest of the crew was filling in to bail him out. And then he called an RA block, reported, and nobody was the wiser.

So the next time this happens to you, don’t feel quite so bad.

Forgot I Rotated ...

In a two person high school game, I, as the lead, once rotated across the lane over to the ball side to help in the low post area. After a turnover, I had forgotten that I had rotated over and simply ran up the court with my partner and I on the same side of the basket line. As the ball settled in the frontcourt I noticed my mistake and quietly moved back across the basket line as the new trail.

I always pregamed that if a rotation gets flubbed, do not yell to get the attention of the person who's in the wrong spot because they are trying to officiate. The other two officials need to adjust.
