If you never let it happen then you will not have to debate about the rule that would apply otherwise, now would you? Often rules situations are created by not doing the basics. Early in my JuCo career I administered a free throw while my partner was still discussing something at the table. Our supervisor was there, and I'll just say, it's something that never happened to me again...LOL
