Connecticut Tougher On Coaches ...
The CIAC has revised it's guidelines regarding the ejection of coaches.
In the past, if a coach was ejected he would have to sit out the next game at that level, and any games at all other levels (varsity, junior varsity, freshman) during that time period. The guideline had now been changed to two games at that level, and any games at all other levels during that time period. Penalties don't reset at the end of the season, and can carry over to the next season. Several years ago we had a subvarsity official toss a knucklehead varsity head coach who was sitting and complaining on the bench during the junior varsity game. Said knucklehead coach had to sit out his subsequent varsity game that night (and the next junior varsity game). The subvarsity official received a standing ovation at our next local meeting. Had this happened more recently, the penalty would been doubled.
