Reggie Miller was doing some of this stuff years before those two got into the league. It has taken some time to acknowledge the tactic and how it is influencing what is called.

Larry Bird was pretty good at this, not great, but pretty good.

He'd prefer to get his shot off naturally (50% career FG %), with no embellishments, but when that couldn't happen, he'd take an "unnatural" shot and lean in, stick out an arm, or a leg, to get "fouled" (90% career FT %).
