Love the explanation of the rules. Also, the NCAA has addressed many of these actions as well. So it is a trend in the game that needs to be addressed at all levels IMO, including the NF level. Based on the rules we have, I would rule similar things at the NF level.

Peace

I was thinking the same exact thing.

Thanks Tre Young (ATL hawks ppoint guard)

When these NBA "perspectives" on what constitutes a foul (or a play on, no call) trickle down to my NF level, we NF level officials will have to make these adjudication without the benefit of multiple booth replay reviews--as is often provided for in pro games. I guess the main thing that we NF refs must therefore be mindful of is to be in "great" position and possess the requisite temerity in order to correctly rule on these types of actions. I really liked the distinctions made between the three types of actions, thanks 4 posting!

You're welcome. While you mention Tre Young, I say it's James Harden who is the worst of the worst.

Harden has been doing if for years, Trae Young elevated the practice.

Reggie Miller was doing some of this stuff years before those two got into the league. It has taken some time to acknowledge the tactic and how it is influencing what is called.

Peace

Larry Bird was pretty good at this, not great, but pretty good.

He'd prefer to get his shot off naturally (50% career FG %), with no embellishments, but when that couldn't happen, he'd take an "unnatural" shot and lean in, stick out an arm, or a leg, to get "fouled" (90% career FT %).
