1.) Good block. Defender jumped straight up and contacted the ball first.
2.) BI. Nothing to discuss.
3.) Defender was legal, and even if he hadn't been, nothing happened. No-call.
4.) In HS, I'd say no shot. Foul occurred before the habitual motion, and cupping the ball on your hip with one hand doesn't meet my definition of the "habitual motion" anyway.
5.) I don't have a problem with the players' reactions. As for the call, there's no way to tell.
Side/honest question: Is it an NCAA-M mechanic to mirror 3-pt. attempts outside your PCA?

No but they are not settled into their PCA, they are still in transition. That is a perfect situation for the C to give a signal when the T is hardly in the front court. Actually the L or the C have the best look at where he is shooting from. Either one could give this signal in this situation.

BTW, that is the same thing we teach in HS here at least.

Peace

1. Close. Clean up top, but could be called a foul low. Defender never had LGP and jumped across and towards the shooter into contact. Not a huge amount, but a blocking foul wouldn't be incorrect. Many, including myself may not call that, but it wasn't incorrect.

2. BI...not even that close.

3. Block. Drifting sideways into the airborne shooter's path.

4. Not sure...can really see when the foul happened. But, I'm leaning towards yes. That said, the shot wouldn't count since he traveled before taking the shot.

5. Not that I can see.

1. Good block.
2. BI
3. what did defense do wrong
4. bad angle and too much to see/judgement for me to say one way or the other.
5. Can't tell what happened from the angle provided. Didn't like the wave off by Coach but no one at this level is T'ing him for that in that moment.
