An honor (of sorts)

For my final game this season, one of my partners was my instructor for the officiating class when I signed up 14 years ago, in his final year of teaching. I had worked with him before, so that in itself was old hat to me, but it turns out this was his last career game. After 40yrs and 1078 Varsity games, he is retiring the stripes. Our 3rd was also one of his students, of only a dozen or so remaining active. He was recognized for his service at half court before tipoff, and we went on to have a great game

Best Wishes, Gene. It was great sharing the moment with you!

Thumbs up

Sounds like a great guy. Hope he enjoys his retirement.
