This.

Cheerleaders all over the place depending on the size of the gym and where there is room.

Never heard of any cheerleader rule, sorry MTD.

Whenever I have a situation where a player is going to be inbounding in the midst of a group cheerleaders, I will occasionally tell the player, "Don't touch the cheerleaders".

A few think it's a real rule. Most get it, especially the cheerleaders.

And no, this is not one of Mark Padgett's rules.

Shouldn't it be vice versa?

Good point. Maybe, in the future, I'll mix it up a little.

My rule is "don't touch the hot moms." Of course, I have an exemption.

My state says "Follow the NFHS rules and mechanics". That's about all the guidance we get.

If I run into them, they are too close. That is where the line is drawn.

You got that right! - did that once about 10 years ago. I was sprinting down the sideline covering a fast break when one of the cheerleaders leaned into the court to get a better look. I saw her at the last scond out of the corner of my eye and tried to adjust - we hit glancing shoulder to shoulder - not much of a contest...175# of me at full speed vs. maybe 115# of her....she went flying & slid on her backside for about 15 feet. Fortunately she wasn't injured.

We don't have any specific rules, but if we think there is a hazard or they may interfere with play we make them move.
